Back to Houston
Tuesday, May 29th, 2007
Not that I’m going back to Houston any time soon…but I’ve finally worked my way down to editing my shoots in the Houston area from March. This is Kimberly in a bayou northeast of the city. I’ll have a few more of Kimberly and Niecy in the woods and water. I’m finally pretty much well […]
Remember
Saturday, May 26th, 2007
Since it is Memorial Day weekend I thought it appropriate to take a break from photos of beautiful nude women and mark the occasion. Especially since so many of our men and women in the military are in harm’s way right now. Of course this is a weekend for cookouts and camping, boating and fishing…and […]
Roots
Thursday, May 24th, 2007
I’ve been pretty much out of commission for the last few days because of some sort of cold/flu/crud that has been going around and found me. Still not over it, but doing better than I have for several days. So I’m back to posting. This is Mo and some interesting tree roots from our hiking […]
Goodbye Big Bend
Monday, May 21st, 2007
This is the last Big Bend photo I’m going to post, for a while at least. For a place that I didn’t really like, Big Bend did actually produce quite a few photos that I think will be in my portfolio for a long time to come. I don’t think I’ll ever go back there, […]
Hole In The Rock
Saturday, May 19th, 2007
Shot in another of the many holes in the rock formations at Three Dike Hill. Sort of makes me think of a gem stone being chipped out of the surrounding rock. The art walk was a lot of fun last night. A bunch of friends came by to enjoy the food and beer and a […]
Holy Rocks
Thursday, May 17th, 2007
Shot on our last day at Big Bend, on those wonderful rocks at Three Dike Hill. If you are getting tired of Big Bend (something I really couldn’t understand) take heart, I’m just about through the Big Bend shoot. Soon I’ll be posting photos from the earlier shoots in the Ozarks and the Houston area. […]
Between a rock and a hard place
Tuesday, May 15th, 2007
The sun did weird things at Big Bend. Here, in blazing hot, bright sun, somehow that warm glow in just this one spot was being created. It looked a lot like the warm glow in a slot canyon up in Utah, but this was on a point of rock out by itself. I’ve been busy […]
In a hole
Sunday, May 13th, 2007
With so many interesting shapes in the rocks at Three Dike Hill we couldn’t resist shooting in them. Again, the colors of the rocks were washed out by the sun so we really couldn’t appreciate them until I drew them out in PhotoShop.
Another Window
Friday, May 11th, 2007
Here’s a window in that fake ruined shack at Three Dike Hill. People told us this location was on a popular drug smuggling route and was heavily monitored. We didn’t see any sign of surveillance cameras, but they assured us they were there and that we were on film somewhere, no doubt bringing a little […]
Shack
Wednesday, May 9th, 2007
At the base of those wild rock formations were a couple small ruined shacks. When we first found them we thought they were “ghost town” ruins like those we had seen in Terlingua and at the abandoned mercury mine we’d visited before. They looked pretty much the same from the outside. But when we got […]
