Athena In Color

How about a few nude portraits of Athena in color? She’s such a lovely person I couldn’t resist doing just a few of these.
Athena is one of the nicest people I’ve ever met. And she is a very talented model.
This last one was shot with a weird little cheapie fisheye lens that I was playing around with that day.

A few more revealing photos of Athena for the Brigman/White Project.
Nudes were the norm in Anne Brigman‘s work and not that uncommon in Clarence White, Sr.’s photography.
It was Brigman’s pioneering nudes that first drew me to study her work.
Athena With The Orb

I did a great shoot with my lovely friend and model, Athena, a while back.
We did a bunch of shots using an orb, a favorite prop of Anne Brigman and Clarence White, Sr. These photos will be part of my ongoing Brigman/White Project.

Back East with Artistic Physique

Back home in Ohio after the trip to New Mexico I had the chance to work with one of my favorite models and favorite people, Artistic Physique.
We went to one of my favorite places to shoot…Blackhand Gorge…a place with more than a century of history as a place for photography.
AP is a great model with an amazingly fit body. She also really seems to enjoy getting into challenging places and poses. And did I mention that she’s a very nice person?
AP is not very tall…but you’d never know that from this last photo…She is certainly statuesque.
More Areia at Bisti

Just a few more photos of the lovely Areia lazing around on the hot rocks at the Bisti Wilderness in New Mexico at a time of year when “only fools and Englishmen” would be out and about in the blazing sun.
I didn’t find the kind of rock formations I was expecting to find at Bisti. A major portion of the wilderness was closed with signs saying not to enter. We obeyed the signs, but I think that cost us the best photos. Maybe I’ll go back some day…but not in the middle of the summer.
One last photo of Areia with clothes on before we move on to my next shoot in the next post. Thank you, Areia, for doing a wonderful job of modeling and making it possible for me to make my art.

I think she makes a lovely addition to a desolate scene.

More Desert Heat

Here are some more from my trip to the Bisti Wilderness in New Mexico.
Today it’s all Kahlan basking in the scorching desert sun.
We are still buried in snow here in Ohio with sub-freezing temperatures forecast for the next 10 days, so looking at these hot photos helps keep me feeling warm.

Feel the Heat

On a day when it is freezing in Ohio and we are digging out from a snowfall last night, it seems like a good time to look back at a shoot in the Bisti Wilderness in New Mexico. It was summer. It was hot. I mean it was really, really hot. We’d go out to shoot first thing in the morning as soon as the sun was up. In just a couple hours it would be too hot to keep going and we’d call it a day. In the photo above you can see my two wonderful models taking a break and hiding from the furnace-like sun. Thanks for your willingness to deal with those conditions, Kahlan and Areia.
The photo above gives you an idea of what a vast desolate area this wilderness is.
We tried to stay in the shade because the sun was like a blast furnace.
Despite the conditions, the ladies stuck it out and did a great job. Thanks again.

Dirty Pictures

Now that the website is up and running again I guess it’s time to start posting here on the blog again and try to catch up. In some ways it’s good that I’m more than a year behind on posting because it has been more than a year since my last photo shoot. So, if I weren’t behind, I’d have nothing new to post.
So, here are some photos of Ayn at a local lake.
As you can see, Ayn got just a little dirty during this shoot.
It looks pretty messy, but I think she actually had a good time.
