It’s Calendar Time

October 24th, 2021

Before you know it it will be 2022. How did that happen? But I’m prepared. I’ve published my 2022 calendars. Above is my “G-Rated” calendar. Safe for work with no nudes. Clicking on the cover image above will take you to the page in my store where you can order a copy. There’s a preview there that you can view as well. And you can also see and click through to the calendars from the cover photos in the column to the right.

As has been my custom for many years I’ve also published a calendar featuring my nudes in the outdoors. You can get to the store page for it by clicking the cover image above.

And I have two additional calendars for 2022. Just about a month ago I had a wonderful shoot with a favorite, lovely model, Ellen, at a remote location in the Nevada desert north of Las Vegas. There were so many fine photos from that one day of shooting that I couldn’t resist putting them in a calendar. Clicking on the cover above with take you to the store page and preview for this calendar.

Finally, you can click the image above to go to the store page and preview of a calendar with my lovely dancer, aerialist, and yoga instructor friend, Lindsay Nova. This was another one-shoot, one-calendar photo set. Lindsay made a rare visit to my area and we took advantage of the opportunity to do an outdoor shoot showing off her amazing skills.

Carrie On The Farm

October 20th, 2021

I had the great good fortune to work with Carrie Turner at a rural location with a lot of options for photos.

It was a sunny day, which can present some challenges for getting the best light, but treated carefully good photos are still possible.

The woods at this location are lovely and feature some nice rock formations.

And it’s always fun to play around with a wide angle at a place like this.

Farm buildings can also make a nice background in the sun.

But what really counts no matter what the location is the model. And they don’t come any better than Carrie.

A big thank you to this lovely woman. She really has what it takes.

More of Ellen in the Desert

October 16th, 2021

Here are some more photos from my shoot with Ellen in the Nevada desert.

Ellen is a superb model, a beautiful woman and a really nice person to be around. Just the sort of person I love to work with.

If I can find a way I’m going back to this location next year and spending a lot more time shooting there.

Ellen has already said she is up for a return visit, so here’s hoping we can work it out. There are many more photos to be made there.

Out In the Desert With Ellen

October 13th, 2021

While I was out west I had the good fortune to be able to work with a wonderful, beautiful model, Ellen, at a remote location north of Las Vegas.

A four-wheel-drive vehicle is required to get to this spot and it’s a long drive at around 10-20 mph.

We were trying to use a GPS, but it took us down the wrong road, which turned out to be much rougher than the road we should have been following.

But eventually we found the right spot and spent several hours photographing with great results, as you can see.

In the time we were shooting we barely scratched the surface of the opportunities at this wonderful location. So, I hope to return next year so I can spend several days working here. Meanwhile enjoy what I captured this time. More to come in my next post.

Recent Wanderings

October 11th, 2021

I’ve recently returned from a trip out west. First I spent some time in the red rock desert doing some photos. The photo above is from a desert location north of Las Vegas. I call it “Rock Face.”

I also did some shooting in Utah and Arizona. The photo above was taken at a somewhat iconic location between Kanab, UT and Page AZ.

After my time shooting in the desert I went over to Los Angeles for a few days. Above is my friend, Mary Pat at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art.

And then I left Los Angeles on the original mission of this trip, driving a U-Haul from LA to Ohio for an old friend who is moving. One of my stops along that drive was in Tucumcari at the Blue Swallow motel, the absolute best of the surviving old Rt. 66 motels. If you look closely in the background you can see the U-Haul under a neighboring awning.

Tucumcari is a great place to make photos. I’ve shot there before. These two, above and below are the high points of this evening of shooting.

A Post On The Online Photographer blog

October 8th, 2021

I’m quite honored, thrilled actually, that something I wrote is the post today on The Online Photographer blog. Here’s the link to the post.

Also I’ve noticed that today is the 15th anniversary of this blog. So I think the recognition from The Online Photographer is a nice note for this moment in the blog-o-sphere. I’ve obviously not been posting much recently, mainly because there has been a lot going on in my life. It’s looking like things are calming down a bit now, so maybe I’ll pick up the posting again in the near future…only time will tell if that actually happens.

Jenny Reflection

August 10th, 2021

A few photos from a shoot with the amazing Jenney Anne Rose. Above is Jenny reflected in a mirror.

And Jenny plays with one of my many orbs.

Some of our best fun at this shoot was when Jenny brought out her hats.

The more hats, the more fine, fun photos.

It’s always fun to play with strong, direct sunlight through windows, blinds, and curtains.

The hats had me thinking about something I did many, many years ago. There was an annual photo competition that I would enter. It had many categories, but I noticed that there were few entries in the “fashion” category. So I made sure to enter that category every year. Usually I won. After a while, just on a lark, I started entering a photo with the title, “Straw Hat” every year. I won several years in a row with my Straw Hat entry.

Thank you Jenny for doing such great modeling and bringing back my straw hat memories. I think these would do well in that contest, if it even still exists. But I’ll find somewhere else to send them for display opportunities.

Random Snaps

August 7th, 2021

Last week my friend Dave Rudin from New York City came for a visit and we ran around taking photos. Here are a couple snaps I took while Dave R was shooting more interesting stuff with his Pentax 67.

Above is a shot from inside the tunnel at Blackhand Gorge in Ohio.

Below is a shot along a trail at Starved Rock State Park in Illinois.

Springfield Museum Show

August 5th, 2021

I’ve been very busy and I’m behind. Lots of projects going on. But here’s a quick post. The photo above is on exhibit in the annual members’ show at the Springfield Museum of Art. The lovely model is Wonderhussy. The location is near Lake Mead in Nevada.

Here’s a shot of yours truly by the print in the show:
